The lenses of helmets are our only channel for observing road conditions, and their transparency and anti fog function can affect the riding experience. Therefore, choosing the appropriate helmet lenses is extremely important. Below we will teach you how to choose the lenses for YEMA helmets and how to solve the problem of lens fogging.
1、 How to choose lens color?
1. Transparent lenses
It has the best transparency and can be used both day and night. It is precisely because of its good transparency that riding in areas with strong light can be dangerous due to the glaring light.
2. Tea colored lenses
Tea colored glasses can filter out a large amount of blue light, improve visual contrast and clarity, and have a better wearing effect in severe air pollution or foggy situations. Generally, it can block the reflected light from smooth and shiny surfaces, and wearers can still see fine details clearly, making it an ideal choice for drivers.
3. Electroplated lenses
Cool appearance, suitable for taking photos. But in actual cycling, regardless of day or night, whether the light is sufficient or not, the line of sight with electroplated lenses is much worse than that with transparent lenses and brown lenses.
Of course, we can choose a helmet with dual lenses. In addition to the front lens, there is another brown lens hidden in the front compartment of the helmet, which is close to light brown. When needed, this inner lens can be removed to reduce the interference of glaring sunlight on cycling. You can also prepare more lenses and replace them as needed. Many helmets are very convenient for disassembling and assembling lenses

2、 Short mirror or long mirror?
Long lenses can effectively prevent dust, sand, and other debris from entering the eyes, effectively resist wind and rain from directly hitting the face, thereby reducing the invasion of moisture and cold waves, and improving the comfort and protection during cycling. In addition, long lenses can provide a better field of view, reduce blind spots, and enhance driving safety.
Compared to long lenses, short lenses are lighter and do not affect the overall weight and comfort of the helmet. In addition, short lenses are also more suitable for electric vehicle owners driving on urban roads, as the driving speed on urban roads is slower and does not require excessive protective measures.
3、 What should I do if the lens fogges up?
As we all know, after wearing a helmet, the space is relatively enclosed, and the water vapor exhaled from the air condenses into small water droplets when it meets the cold helmet lens, which is the fog on the helmet lens. So how to solve the problem of lens fogging?
1. Anti fog lenses
Choose matching lenses based on the style of the helmet.

2. Anti fog patch
Installing anti fog patches on the inside of helmet lenses can prevent fogging in the patch area, making installation simple and suitable for various helmets.

3. Anti fog agent
First, clean and dry the helmet lenses, spray them with anti fog agent, and then dry them with a soft cloth (similar to an eye cloth, which will be included when buying anti fog agent). A hair dryer or air dryer has a better effect. After spraying, a layer of anti fog film will be formed on the helmet lens, and spraying once is generally effective for anti fog for several days to one or two weeks. If not wiped during use, the anti fog effect will last longer.
4. Anti fog wet wipes
It is generally used for anti fog of car glass, and can also be used for anti fog of helmet lenses. As long as you use this wet wipe to wipe the inside of the helmet lens, it can achieve anti fog effect and is suitable for emergency use.
5. Dishwashing detergent, soap
The usage method is similar to that of anti fog agents:
First, clean the helmet lenses, then apply soap vigorously to the inside of the lenses. After filling up, use a clean tissue to wipe off excess soap, and then change to a clean tissue to gently rub back and forth, making the lenses shiny and transparent.
If using dishwashing detergent, rinse with water after filling, rinse thoroughly, and then blow dry. Don’t wipe, the effect won’t be good once you wipe it.
